Our gateway drug into the land of rock royalty is 1975's A Night at the Opera. So much so that when Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991 from AIDS-related bronchopneumonia, he had left us with ten careers-worth of music despite only being 45. For decades the iconic four-piece - fronted by the frontman to end all frontmen - pumped out hit after hit after hit. It was also released in the USA in 2001, with a blue spine and border, and a 4 channel mix by Elliot Scheiner (without Brian), but was withdrawn as Brian was unhappy with it.If you're a human being with ears under the age of 40, Queen have never not existed. This release (which has a black spine and border) has a 5.1 surround sound mix produced by Roy Thomas Baker and Brian May. This is not mentioned anywhere on the release, but according to the DTS group it contains information relating to the menus and the disc structure. The release also includes a 'hidden' group (number 9) which can only be accessed by entering a 4 digit password. It also features the video to 'Bohemian Rhapsody' (taken from the 'Greatest Flix' video, starting with the last photograph from the 'Killer Queen' video), a photo gallery, showing the 11 photographs from the original album sleeve, a song selection menu, and various credits, divided into album credits (with a unique excerpt of ' Seaside Rendezvous'), stereo credits (with a unique instrumental excerpt of ' I'm In Love With My Car'), 5.1 credits (with an excerpt of ' The Prophet's Song'), DVD credits (with a unique instrumental excerpt of ' Sweet Lady'), special thanks (with a unique instrumental excerpt of ' Bohemian Rhapsody') and finally information about the DTS group (which includes two short excerpts of ' Good Company', one a unique instrumental, one a short excerpt). The release allows the lyrics to each song to be displayed, with or without the song itself playing. The 30th Anniversary reissue of the album also features 10 of the above surround sound mixes, and two different ones, but this was released as a standard DVD rather than DVD-Audio. Each track has been remixed into 5.1 surround sound, full details of which are available on the Surround Sound Mixes page. This is a DVD-Audio reissue of Queen's 1975 album of the same name.
